Paris Saint-Germain star, Kylian Mbappe is now in the final six months of his contract with the French giants.
Liverpool have long been interested in the striker but financial barriers have often put a halt to their interest.
However, there is no doubt that Kylian Mbappe would be a stellar signing for the Reds.
Since extending his stay in the French capital last season, the striker has been consistently linked with a move away from PSG.
With Real Madrid often being touted as the most likely destination for him if he were to move.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have also always been in and around the conversation.
However, according to a report from Le Parisien, Liverpool are now the ‘most credible and dangerous candidate‘ in Mbappe’s long line of suitors.
The report also goes on to claim that Real Madrid and Liverpool are the two main ‘clubs fighting for his signing.’
Where does the future of Kylian Mbappe lie
Mbappe felt destined to join Real but, after extending his stay with PSG, the relationship between the player and club has been tarnished.
Instead of making Mbappe their statement signing, they instead opted for Jude Bellingham.
This decision, although at the time was made for them, has worked in their favour.
The England international has been amongst the best players in the world this season.
He has contributed to 22 goals in just 21 games across all competitions.
Bellingham was also repeatedly linked with Liverpool in the summer.
It’s starting to become a recurring theme seeing Real Madrid and Liverpool battling it out for players.
However, if the Reds manage to pull off the transfer, their attack would be amongst the best in the world.
Not only is Mbappe a clinical finisher, he is also just as fast as Mohamed Salah.
His addition would be highly beneficial for Liverpool and add yet another element to their attack.
