Gary Neville has recently made a claim as to how he thinks Liverpool’s transfer window will go.
The Reds are currently top of the league after 20 games and look like legitimate challengers to Manchester City’s crown.
Jurgen Klopp has done business in the previous two editions of the winter transfer window.
Luis Diaz arrived in 2022 to help spur Liverpool onto a domestic double, while Cody Gakpo was bought in January 2023.
Therefore, the Anfield club could easily dip into the market as they attempt to capture a second Premier League title.
At least, that’s what Manchester United legend Gary Neville thinks.
What did Gary Neville say?
Speaking on Sky Sports coverage, Neville believes that Liverpool won’t slip up on the opportunity to win the Premier League this year.
“I was just talking in the press lounge and wondering whether Liverpool might just have a sneaky dabble in the transfer market in January,” the Sky Sports pundit began.
“They won’t announce it because they’re really clever and they won’t want other clubs to know they’re desperate, and they’ve been very clever in the transfer market over the last few years under Jurgen Klopp.”
“I wonder whether they think adding something to their squad could give them a difference – as it’s [the Premier League title] up for grabs.”
Cody Gakpo to Liverpool certainly came as somewhat of a surprise.
The Dutchman seemed destined for a move to Old Trafford before Liverpool swooped in.
Likewise with Luis Diaz, Tottenham were close to a deal before the Reds jumped in and wrapped up a quick deal.
Who could Liverpool sign this month?
Liverpool ideally need another centre-back just in case more injuries hit.
It would be cruel for the Reds to fallout the title race due to a lack of squad depth.
Japan defender Ko Itakura is on the radar of Liverpool.
Goncalo Inacio is another defender who seems ready for the next step in his career.
What is clear is that Liverpool can’t arrive at the end of the season wishing they had done winter business.
