Mohamed Salah is without doubt, one of Liverpool’s greatest players of all time.

The ‘Egyptian King’ has arguably had the largest impact of any player in the Reds’ history.

He joined the club in 2017 for a fee of around £36.5million, this sum now seems miniscule when compared to the impact he has had on the club.

Mohamed Salah recently broke into Liverpool’s top five all time goal scorers and, at the time of writing, sits on 204 goals for the Reds across all competitions.

During the Anfield clubs game against Newcastle on New Years Day, Salah also reached 150 Premier League goals for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

For up to the next month, Liverpool will be without their winger due his national side partaking in the Africa Cup of Nations.

This means that the likes of Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo will have to fill the gap that Salah will leave.

Klopp spoke on the Reds’ chances without Salah and believes that he has “solutions” in order to replace the 31-year-old.

“Each long-term plan I could have had depends massively on who is available. So why should I think in October who I can use when Mo is away, when I have no clue who is available?

“We have solutions today and I hope we have that after Newcastle as well. It is not the first time, it is a really very average situation that you lose your goal scorer.

“But we had it even worse in the past when both Sadio [Mane] and Mo left. We always came through it. Traditionally at least one of them went far in the tournament at least, which makes it even worse.

“We knew it and now we have to deal with it, and we will.”

How has Mohamed Salah performed so far this season

To fans and pundits alike, Salah has been the standout player for Liverpool this season.

The Egypt international has contributed to 22 goals in the Premier League thus far, which puts him ahead of the likes of Erling Haaland and Son Heung-Min.

A thread on X from Squawka outlined some of the key stats where Salah has seemingly came out on top against his opponents.

Furthermore he has created the most big chances (17) in England’s top flight.

He even tops the list for the most shots on target (33.)

Klopp has altered his system to suit the playstyle of Salah, the winger always finds himself in front of the opponents goal and if not in front of the net, then he will be creating chances for his team.

Following Liverpool’s win against Newcastle, the winger became just the third player in history to garner 20 goals and assists in seven consecutive Premier League seasons.

The previous two to achieve this were Premier League greats, Thierry Henry and Harry Kane.

Although to most, Salah is already held in the same regard as Henry and Kane, these stats further showcase how influential the attacker is.

Without him, Liverpool would be far worse off and not in constant contention for titles and cups.

Out of the 20 top flight games which have been played this season, there have only been two occasions where the 31-year-old hasn’t registered either a goal or assist.

Although Liverpool have a multitude of players who can fill in at right-wing, there’s no doubt that Salah’s spark will be missed whilst he is representing his country.
