Fabio Carvalho endured a difficult loan spell at RB Leipzig.
There was hope that a loan to the Bundesliga for Fabio Carvalho would revive his Liverpool career after a season’s experience in Germany.
However, his lack of gametime under manager Marco Rose forced Jurgen Klopp and co. into recalling the 21-year-old.
German outlet BILD now report that Fabio Carvalho is likely to move on loan to former club Fulham after his unsatisfactory loan spell with RB Leipzig.
It is a move that would make a lot of sense for Fabio Carvalho as he will no doubt be familiar with some of the staff and players.
Carvalho spent 7 years at Fulham from 2015-2022, working his way through the various youth ranks.
In 2020, he went on to make his first team debut shortly after he turned 18, coming off the bench for the last 12 minutes during a 2-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday at Craven Cottage in the EFL Cup [Fulhamfandom.com].
Hopefully Carvalho can reignite his form at Craven Cottage, form which made Liverpool spend a reported £5m plus add-ons.
Where will Fabio Carvalho fit in at Liverpool?
There were some concerns when the Reds announced the signing of Carvalho.
He operates as mainly an attacking midfielder, although he can also play on the left.
Jurgen Klopp does not really play with a true attacking midfielder.
Furthermore, the attacking positions already have plenty of competition.
The likes of Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz already are jostling for the left-wing position.
Therefore, it will be interesting to see where exactly those at Anfield see Carvalho slotting in on a long-term basis.
