Owen Beck recently got recalled from his loan spell with Scottish side Dundee.
With Kostas Tsimikas and Andy Robertson’s long-term injuries, Beck was recalled to provide cover on the left-flank.
We then exclusively revealed that Scottish giants Rangers and Celtic would be keen on signing the 21-year-old on loan.
The Times have now confirmed our information in their own report, reporting:
‘Celtic and Rangers have both had attempts to sign Owen Beck on loan rejected.’
The highly rated 21-year-old has played 17 times in the championship, catching the eye of Scottish heavyweights Celtic and Rangers.
It would then seem that Andy Robertson will not be back in January, as if that was the case Liverpool would allow Beck to go back on loan in the Scottish Premiership.
Meanwhile Kostas Tsimikas left the field against Arsenal in considerable pain after a challenge with Bukayo Saka.
The Greek international collided with Jurgen Klopp on the touchline in which Kostas Tsimikas broke his collar bone.
Owen Beck shared a heartfelt message to Dundee after he was recalled back to Anfield, writing on X:
“I just wanted to thank everyone at Dundee FC for making my time so special.”
“The coaching staff, my teammates, the fans and everyone else who supported me during my time at the club.”
“It was a great experience and one I will remember for the rest of my career.”
“Dundee will always have a place in my heart and I wish you all the very best for the rest of the season.”
