Liverpool have had some injury issues in defence over the course of this campaign.
Andy Robertson suffered a big issue to his shoulder when playing for Scotland
Then Joel Matip had a season ending injury in Liverpool’s dramatic 4-3 victory over Fulham.
In Liverpool’s high quality 1-1 draw against Arsenal they had another problem at left-back as Kostas Tsimikas was pushed over by Bukayo Saka.
Due to this the Greek international injured his collarbone so Joe Gomez had to come in at the full-back.
Gomez then proceeded to start the next couple of games there but now he may not be required.
Kostas Tsimikas has posted training pictures on Instagram
There were rumours that Tsimikas would be out for a long time due to this collarbone issue.
However it appears that he will be back much sooner than expected as he posted a picture on Instagram back running on the pitch.
This will help out Jurgen Klopp a lot as through January as he had to recall Owen Beck from Dundee FC to help cover the left-back issue.
Tsimikas hasn’t been given a time scale to when he will be back but with a busy period in the domestic cups coming up it will be important that he is available.
The former Olympiacos full-back grew into form over the last few weeks and really stepped up bringing security to the defence so he was a big loss when he went off injured
Klopp is in for a double boost in January as Robertson is also meant to be on his way back as he was also pictured carrying on with his rehabilitation.
Even though Matip is set to be out for the rest of the season it doesn’t look like Klopp will be rushed into a decision to bring in another defender in the window as Nat Phillips returned from Celtic.
