Having spent last season on loan at Scottish Premier League side Dundee FC, Owen Beck was called back early in the year to help with the injury woes that ravaged Liverpool’s defence.

Beck then went back on loan to Scotland and continued to impress.

The Welsh defender has since attracted the interest of multiple clubs.

It seems that another move away from Anfield is

Sky Sports reports have shown that Celtic is out to secure the youngster’s signature on a permanent transfer.

QPR, amongst other Championship clubs, have also made enquiries about the 21-year-old defender.

But these sides are only looking to get his services on loan.

Liverpool have made clear that they are open to Beck leaving.

But if he’s going to leave, they expect bids that match their evaluation of the player.

Celtic in for Owen Beck

Given Liverpool’s disposition as regards the whole saga, Celtic look in a better place to get the young right-back.

They would have gotten the young defender earlier in the year, but it fell through after he made an appearance for Liverpool in a 4-0 win against Bournemouth in January.

This was because as per FIFA rules, a player cannot play for more than two teams in a season.

He then had to return to Dundee for the rest of the season because joining Celtic would have made that a third team for the left-back.

Celtic faithfuls can only hope for an agreement to be reached just in time for the new season when Beck returns from the pre-season tour.

Pressure has been mounting on the only senior defender in Beck’s position in the Scottish club and fans are afraid that it will continue as it ended last season.

This makes it pretty clear why Celtic are exploring a deal for the Merseyside defender.
