After representing his nation in UEFA Euro 2024, Ryan Gravenberch has just returned from break.

The Netherlands international reconnected with the team in Philadelphia, who are in the USA on their preseason campaign.

Gravenberch, who featured in Ronald Koeman’s side in the tournament, impressed and helped his side reach the semi-finals.

They were eventually beaten 2-1 by England at the Signal Iduna Park in Germany.

He hasn’t yet played under the new manager, Arne Slot, but is hopeful of a shot at some quality playing time.

He might get his chance as the Reds face Manchester United tonight at the Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina.

While speaking of the potential inclusion in the game for both Ibrahim Konate and Ryan Gravenberch, Slot said, “Yes we will [see them against Manchester United] if they stay fit in the upcoming two days. They will play like Diogo [Jota], 45 minutes against United.”

What has Ryan Gravenberch said?

Upon his return to the squad, Gravenberch was interviewed by the official Liverpool website.

“Happy to be back, happy to be here and happy to see the faces again,” Gravenberch said in a chat shared on Liverpoolfc.com.

“Honestly, I had a good, I think, almost three weeks off and I enjoyed it a lot – mentally good again, not thinking a lot about football [and] just enjoying the holidays. Now we’re here again.

“Hopefully I get some minutes and I can play again.”

Gravenberch has already begun work under the new head coach and seems to be happy with what he’s seen so far.

Speaking about the coach, he expressed, “Really good impressions.

“He really wants to play football and me personally as well.

“So, happy that he’s here and happy that we can train and play.”

Having spent only a season at the club, Gravenberch also spoke on his relationship with his fellow midfielders and how he looked forward to playing with the team.

Commenting on the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister and Wataru Endo, Gravenberch was full of praise for their skills.

“For sure. They are really good players, so I’m happy that I can play with them again.

“I’m really looking forward to it [and] also we want to play football.”

It seems as if the former Ajax and Bayern Munich midfielder is raring to go and start the new campaign.

LFC fans will be hoping to see him in action against rivals Manchester United later this evening.
