Liverpool linked attacker left out squad for upcoming friendly

A tweet from Fabrizio Romano states that the player was left out of the squad for his clubs next friendly.

It’s no news that Liverpool is yet to finalize or make an official bid for any player this summer.

It has many fans and even pundits thinking about the plans of Dutch head coach, Arne Slot.

There has been speculation here and there, but no final decisions have been made it seems.

One of those talks almost resulted in a swap deal between Liverpool and Newcastle United. It was believed that Anthony Gordon would join Liverpool and Joe Gomez would go in the opposite direction.

But unfortunately, it fell through as Newcastle were able to sort their PSR issues which was the initial reason for wanting to sell one of their most valuable players.

We’ve shared exclusive news that Liverpool are still in touch with the agents of Gordon, but as of yet, there has been no further advancement on that.

With Arne Slot seemingly focused on pre-season and ensuring his players are in peak condition for their first outing in the new season at Ipswich Town, more rumours have been flying around.

There have been talk previously of Liverpool keeping an eye on Italian attacker Federico Chiesa.

The Juventus man has been linked with a move to Anfield since 2023 at least, but nothing has ever materialised.

However, it seems that the forward is edging closer to the exit foor in Turin.

Chiesa, whose contract with the Bianconeri is still valid until June 2025,  doesn’t seem to be part of the new coach Thiago Motta’s plans.

A tweet from Fabrizio Romano states that Chiesa was left out of the squad for Juventus’ next friendly.

Romano confirms that the Italian giants are clear in that they want to sell the Italy international. This has allegedly been the case since June.

Leaving the player out of the squad is a clear a hint as possible that the Italian giants are no longer interested in keeping the services of the forward.

With Chiesa raking in 10 goals and 3 assists in 35 outings for the Old Lady, it looks like Juve are looking for other solutions up front.

Liverpool has not yet made any official bids for the 26-year-old.

One could argue that with the likes of Mohammed Salah, Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo amongst others in the team’s ranks, there might not be a need for a talented but injury-prone player like Federico Chiesa.

For now, what is clear is that Chiesa is set to leave Juventus sooner rather than later.
