Liverpool reject offer for Fabio Carvalho

According to reports from David Ornstein, Liverpool rejected an offer from a Premier League side to sign midfielder Fabio Carvalho.

Fabio Carvalho is a wanted man.

After opening the scoring in Liverpool’s 3-0 pre-season victory against Manchester United last night, Carvalho has pre-season like he means it.

Taking the ball from Diogo Jota, he left Casemiro for dead and beat Andre Onana to make it 1-0 on the night.

The 21-year-old made it two goals in two games after he also scored the winner against Arsenal in the previous fixture.

Carvalho returned from his loan spell at Hull City and stated his aims for the new season.

Having spoken to new head coach Arne Slot on his return to the club, it remains to be seen whether his long term future is at the club or elsewhere.

And it seems like there are other clubs looking to test Liverpool’s resolve in keeping the attacker.

Fabio Carvalho bid rejected

According to reports from David Ornstein, Liverpool have rejected a £15 million offer from Southampton to sign Fabio Carvalho.

The English Premier League new boys are looking to bolster their ranks as they look to push on in their return to the top flight.

Ornstein suggests that the Reds may be open to a permanent transfer, but only if higher bids can come for the 21-year-old.

The club also does not want to sanction another loan offer for the Portuguese talent.

Carvalho has already had two loan spells away from the club at RB Leipzig and Hull City. It’s seems that they want a more concrete resolution for his position.

The Portuguese midfielder, however, might be keen on a move to the Saints.

A move to Saint Mary’s Stadium may afford him more playing time as a regular starter.

Liverpool are very well stocked in his position and are also linked with Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon.

That move would make competition for places even fiercer for Carvalho.

So it seems that there will likely be more updates on the Fabio Carvalho situation in the coming days and weeks as the end of the transfer window approaches.
