Liverpool make enquiry for Argentina defender

According to reports coming out of Argentina, there is now a new name that is attracting interest from The Reds. 

Liverpool Football Club have just wrapped up their pre-season tour of the US with a 3-0 victory over Manchester United.

The Pre-season friendlies have given a chance for new manager Arne Slot to assess his team’s strengths and potential areas of improvement ahead of the upcoming season.

Liverpool are now focused on their next pre-season game against Sevilla on 11th August at Anfield before their first English Premier League game of the 2024/25 season against Ipswich Town.

The Reds are looking to bolster their squad in the coming days and weeks. It has been reported that Liverpool have been looking for defensive options throughout the summer.

Some of the players the club were considering included UEFA Euro standout performer Marc Guehi and Bordeux defender Mathys Angely.

According to reports coming out of Argentina, there is now a new name that is garnering interest from The Reds.

Julio Soler wanted by Liverpool

According to TYC sports journalist Mariano Antico, Liverpool are likely to make an offer for Argentine Julio Soler.

The club have not made any formal offer yet, however it has been revealed that Liverpool have asked about the player’s availability.

According to the same report, Mariano Antico reveals that Club Atlético Lanus value the 19-year old left-back at $15m.

Soler has so far made 21 appearances for Lanus in their season so far.

The youngster has also just participated in the Olympic Games for Argentina. He played some part in all four of Argentina’s games in the competition, which ended when they were defeated 1-0 by hosts France in the quarter-finals.

The Reds could be looking to bring Julio Soler in as an understudy to Andrew Robertson.
