Former Liverpool academy star Mateusz Musialowski has a new home.

Musialowski joined Liverpool as an exciting 16-year-old prospect from Polish side SMS Lodz in 2020.

He was considered one of the best additions to the Liverpool academy after scoring 133 goals in 88 games at youth level for Lodz.

Following a successful first season at the club’s academy, the Polish attacking midfielder signed his first professional contract with Liverpool in July 2021.

He also trained with the club’s first team under Jurgen Klopp and also made his debut at the club under the German, who brought him in as a second-half substitute in Liverpool’s historic 6-1 battering of Sparta Prague during the UEFA Europa League round of 16 clash at Anfield last season.

In doing so, the 20-year-old became only the second Polish player to play for Liverpool (the other being Jerzy Dudek) and the first outfield Pole to make an official appearance for the Merseyside outfit.

However, despite his early promise and enormous talent, the former SMS Lodz player was among the several names released by Liverpool this summer at the expiration of his contract.

After ending his chapter at Liverpool, Mateusz Musialowski has found a new home in Cyprus, where he has officially signed a three-year deal with Omonia Nicosia as announced by the official Liverpool website.

The Cypriot First Division side play regularly in Europe, with recent appearances in the group stages of the 2021–22 Conference League and the 2022–23 Europa League.

Musialowski will be looking to rebuild his career in Cyprus kick start his career again.

Omonia Nicosia have already started their season as they’re playing in qualification games for the UEFA Europa Conference League.
