Martin Zubimendi reportedly agrees to join Liverpool

Spanish news outlet Relevo have just published news that the midfielder has said yes to a move to Anfield.

Have Liverpool managed to convince Martin Zubimendi to join the club?

It seems so.

It’s been speculated that the Reds were looking to bring the UEFA Euro 2024 winner to Anfield.

However, it had been believed that the deal would not be quite so straightforward.

This is, after all, a player who has reportedly turned down the likes of Arsenal, Barcelona and Bayern Munich to stay at his current club.

But that could all be about to change.

Spanish news outlet Relevo have just published news that the Real Sociedad midfielder has said yes to a move to Anfield.

They report that Liverpool are willing to pay the €60m release clause in the contract of Zubimendi and that both clubs are negotiating the terms of the agreement.

Martin Zubimendi has been training back with his teammates for three days as he’s only recently returned from his holidays after his involvement in his country’s successful Euros campaign.

But he might be saying goodbye to them soon as it seems he’s headed to England.

If the deal was to be done, Zubimendi would be the first signing of the new Arne Slot era.
