Last summer was known for Chelsea beating Liverpool to sign two players from underneath their noses.
Moises Caicedo was the first player.
Liverpool had a bid accepted by Brighton for the Ecuador international, only for Chelsea to usurp the deal.
Lightning struck twice when the same thing happened for Romeo Lavia.
The Reds had agreed with Southampton for the young Belgian, only for Chelsea to enter the race and sign him up instead.
Another player linked previously with Liverpool is now set to move to Chelsea.
Although, this one won’t hurt as much.
Pedro Neto was heavily linked with Liverpool during the second half of the season.
Fabrizio Romano even confirmed that the Reds have an interest in the attacker.
However, as the season wore on, the links became more quiet as it seemed Neto’s injury record would mean a big club would likely steer clear of him.
That position seemed to have changed.
RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins has reported that Pedro Neto is set to sign for Chelsea Football Club.
Talks between Chelsea and Wolverhampton Wanderers are at an advanced stage, with the player agreeing in principle to the move.
Neto was identified by some as an ideal long term replacement for Mohamed Salah, but it seems that he’ll be playing in a blue rather than red shirt next season.
Liverpool will need to look for an alternative option if they want to bring in another attacker for that right hand side spot upfront.
