Liverpool’s star right-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold, enters the new season with a reputation as one of the most dynamic defenders in football, both on the field and in the world of Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

Last season, Alexander-Arnold was pivotal for Liverpool, delivering stellar performances that not only helped his team but also made him a favourite among FPL managers.

Despite Liverpool’s inconsistent form, Trent managed to register 9 assists and 3 goals in 37 names for the Reds.

This reaffirmed his status as one of the leading attacking full-backs in the world.

In a recent interview posted by Fantasy Premier League on X, Alexander-Arnold addressed the buzz surrounding his record price tag in FPL.

When asked why FPL managers should pick him this season, he confidently stated, “The record speaks for itself.”

Alexander-Arnold acknowledged that he is likely the most expensive defender in the game, though he admitted he wasn’t entirely sure.

“I think it’s the highest defender. Is it?” he mused.

Trent then confidently added, “I’m not sure [if it’s] the highest price.”

His track record certainly does—his consistent performances over the years have made him a fixture in FPL teams across the globe.

Yet, the high valuation doesn’t seem to concern him. Instead, he sees it as a reflection of his contributions on the pitch.

“As long as I’m most expensive, it means I’m doing something right,” Alexander-Arnold remarked.

When asked why he thinks he commands such a high price in FPL, Alexander-Arnold smile and his answer was clear: “I get the most points.”

It’s a simple yet powerful reminder of his unique ability to consistently deliver, whether through assists, free kicks, or clean sheets.
