Owen Beck was one of a number of young players hoping to impress Arne Slot before the new season begins.

Beck’s chances were limited on the pre-season tour in the United States of America.

Unfortunately for the 22-year-old, he was ill this week which resulted in him missing out on both the Sevilla and Las Palmas friendlies.

Beck spent last season on loan at Dundee where he caught the eye of the ‘big two’ in the SPL.

Both Celtic and Rangers still have an interest in the left back with Celtic particularly keen.

After recalling him from Dundee last January Jurgen Klopp said “we always were pretty positive about him. It makes sense after losing our two left-backs that a boy we like is available for us, so we brought him back.”

We can exclusively reveal that Celtic are still looking to sign him on a permanent deal but so far the Scottish Champions are far from Liverpool’s valuation.

Liverpool want Beck to sign a new deal and to go on loan.

We can also exclusively reveal that Queens Park Rangers and Leeds United are keen on signing the Welsh left-back for a season loan.

Owen Beck has already made one English Premier League appearance after a 7-minute impressive cameo against Bournemouth last season.

The academy graduate is likely to have some certainty around his future this week.

It is believed that Liverpool value the promising defender at around £3m.
