It seems Liverpool are increasingly close to sealing their first transfer of the summer.

Arne Slot’s side have been linked with a few players in the past weeks but without success.

However, recent reports suggests that the Anfield club may announce a player soon.

The player in question is Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Although the goalkeeping position is not one that Liverpool are in desperate need to fill at the moment, the Anfield club are going ahead with the transfer of the Georgian international, as they see him as a long-term number one.

The goalkeeper himself is keen on moving to Anfield and the club have agreed personal terms with him.

However, one worry among fans has been how the goalkeeper will fit into Armed Slot’s side this season.

At the moment, Alisson Becker and Caoimhin Kelleher are the club’s undisputed goalkeepers and neither man seems to be on his way out.

So what will become of Mamardashvili if he signs?

Will he compete with Alisson and Kelleher for a place in the Liverpool’s starting XI this season?

According to Romano, upon signing the Georgian, Liverpool plan to loan him to fellow Premier League side Bournemouth for one season.
