Alisson – 7

Made some important saves.

Was fortunate in some instances that Arsenal’s frontline seemed to leave their shooting boots at home, but he was solid.

There was a corner that Arsenal had late in the game that Alisson came for and claim authoritatively. Seemed to sum up his match. Did what he does effectively and efficiently.

Alexander-Arnold – 8

How many more times do we need to say it? But what a season Trent is having.

He’s becoming the talisman of this side and is arguably Liverpool’s most effective man going forward.

His free-kick delivery led to the first goal and he almost had his own name on the scoresheet when his effort in the first smashed back off the crossbar.

Could he be making an early case for Liverpool’s player of the season already?

Quansah – 7

Stepped in for Virgil van Dijk and the highest compliment we can pay him is that The Reds didn’t miss their captain.

Was faced with a barrage of attacks from Arsenal, especially in the first half, but stood up strong and defended well.

Has made himself a solid member of the first team squad and is surely now the first choice centre back if ever van Dijk or Konate need replacing.

Konate – 9

Man of the match.

The block he made in the first half to deny Reiss Nelson was almost as good as a goal. It certainly denied Arsenal a certain one!

Stepped into the senior leader position in the back effortlessly as he stopped several attacks from The Gunners. Another player who has performed incredibly well over the past few weeks.

Gomez – 7

It’s not easy going up against someone like Bukayo Saka. Such is the influence and talent of the English attacker that he’s always going to cause any defence problems.

And Gomez did a relatively decent job in holding down the fort on that side.

Don’t get us wrong – if Arsenal had won and one of Saka’s runs had led to a goal, then this might have been a different score.

But the fact was that they didn’t and Gomez seems to be another credible option for Klopp on the left hand side of defence.
