Alisson – 6
On an evening where the goalkeeper didn’t really have much to do, Alisson still had the ball pass him into the net three times.
The first from Dan Burn was disallowed for offside. But then Isak and Batman saw efforts that ended up in the net and counted for the away side.
In Alisson’s defence, there wasn’t much he could do with either effort so the rating is reflective of that.
Alexander-Arnold – 8
What a season Trent is having.
He drove his side down the right hand side in the first half and put pressure on the Newcastle backline with his passing and crossing.
Almost scored the goal of the season with an audacious effort in the first half that smacked off the post.
May have missed the rebound from Salah’s penalty but was otherwise outstanding and a huge reason that Liverpool were so good on the night.
Van Dijk – 6.5
Marked down for one reason – playing Isak onside for the first Newcastle goal.
Otherwise was back to his best.
Made some crucial tackles and was also a threat in the opposition box.
Konate – 7
Good performance.
Was strong in his tackles and didn’t seem overawed by the weather.
Gomez – 8
Gomez is going under the radar as having a stellar season.
Whether he’s on the right, centre or left of the defence, he’s just putting in stellar performance after stellar performance.
Has been playing like he has a point to prove this season and he’s certainly proving it.
