Another Liverpool academy player has left the club on a season long loan this summer.

The Reds are yet to sign a player in this transfer window, but have sanctioned some moves away from the club, including the permanent transfer of Fabio Carvalho to Brentford.

The latest departure from the club is midfielder Luca Stephenson, who has completed a season-long loan move to Scottish Premiership side Dundee United, subject to international clearance and SFA approval as announced by the club.

The 20-year-old, joined Liverpool from Sunderland as an U15 player.

The Englishman is a versatile player who can operate at both full-back and in midfield.

He made 34 appearances on loan with League Two outfit Barrow last season but will now spend the whole of the 2024-25 campaign with the Scottish Premiership side.

Stephenson has been part of head coach Arne Slot’s senior squad during pre-season, featuring in the friendlies against Preston North End, Real Betis, Arsenal, Manchester United and Sevilla in recent weeks.

He will meet up with his former Liverpool teammate Billy Koumetio, who recently joined at Dundee United.

Stephenson is not the only academy player that has left the club this summer.

Lewis Koumas has joined Stoke City on a season-long loan, while Luke Chambers also moved to Wigan on a season-long loan.

Meanwhile, other young players that are attracting loan interest are Owen Beck.

Stefan Bajcetic could also be heading out on loan to gain more minutes after spending the whole of last season out injured.

Nevertheless, Liverpool continue to make moves in the transfer market.

They are currently reportedly talking with Valencia over the signing of Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

The goalkeeper would be sent out on loan upon signing for the club.

Elsewhere, there is a rumoured interest from Barcelona in Luis Diaz.
