The FA Cup third-round kicked off with last night with Crystal Palace and Everton labouring to a 0-0 draw.
The third-round sees Premier League and Championship sides enter the competition.
A slightly depleted Liverpool will take on Arsenal this Sunday at the Emirates.
For this round of the FA Cup, there is a grand total prize pot of £3.36million according to talkSPORT.
This pot will then be split equally between each of the tie winners, meaning it won’t be the most for a club the size of Liverpool.
However, it could be a lucrative option for many lower league clubs like National League South outfit Maidstone who are in the third-round of the competition.
Each winning team will receive £105,000 plus 45% of the revenue made from the game. Both the winners and losers of each matchup take 45% of the matchday revenue.
TV money for the FA Cup
Since Liverpool’s game with Arsenal has been picked for TV coverage, the Anfield club is entitled to remuneration for that as well.
A reported total of £100,000 is available for each side.
Just like with the prize money, these figures will increase incrementally as we get further and further into the famous competition.
In addition, gate receipts for a replayed game are split equally once more, and a ton of TV money is involved.
It’s less for replays, but it’s still close to £50,000.
