It feels like Groundhog Day. Constant Martin Zubimendi updates with no outcome in sight.
Paul Joyce revealed earlier in The Times that:
“Liverpool are hoping that Martin Zubimendi will confirm he is willing to move to Merseyside. Liverpool were led to believe the Spain player was prepared to make a switch to Anfield, although the 25-year-old is mulling over whether to actually break ties with his boyhood club.”
So it seems like Liverpool feel like the goalposts have been moved somewhat.
Fabrizio Romano provides latest update
However Liverpool have been offered a little bit more hope.
Speaking on his playback show, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that La Liga outfit Real Sociedad feel that Zubimendi is more than tempted to join Liverpool:
“Real Sociedad feel Zubimendi is more than tempted to join Liverpool.
Liverpool are prepared to pay whatever is needed to sign him after presenting exciting project and good salary.”
It’s positive news, albeit not the type of update most wanted at this stage.
