Mo Salah played his last Liverpool game for at least a month in their 4-2 win over Newcastle United and he was yet again the key man.

He scored two whilst getting one assist to make up for missing a penalty in the first half.

Salah has been Liverpool’s most influential player in attack this season with 18 goals and nine assists in all competitions.

So he will be a big miss but Jurgen Klopp will have four other attackers still at his disposal as he has Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz.

They will be vital if Liverpool are to carry on competing in the cup competitions and at the top of the Premier League.

Danny Murphy believes Liverpool have enough firepower without Mo Salah

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy was speaking about the title race on TalkSport and he has backed Liverpool’s attackers to flourish.

He said: “I think they’ve got better firepower than Arsenal and they’ll finish above them.

“If anyone’s going to take on City it’ll be Liverpool because they’ve got a manager who’s proven he’s capable of competing with Guardiola and nobody else has.”

When asked about the impact of Salah going to AFCON Murphy said: “I’m not concerned because of the fact that they’ve got Jota and Gakpo to come in and they are really good players.

“You’ve just got to look at Jota’s numbers, he doesn’t get the credit he deserves. He’s always, always scoring goals.

“His numbers are frightening, especially for a wide player and somebody who doesn’t start that much.

“So, I’m not that concerned, no.”

Jota so far this season has played 19 games in all competitions and has scored nine goals.

Out of the four senior attacking options Jota has been at the club longest but he has had his injury issues so the importance will be shared with all the forwards.
