Liverpool is well known for their astute youth recruitment.

The club prides itself on an organisation that has one eye on the future.

This has shown over the years as talented youngsters have been allowed to show what they have got on a platform as huge as the Reds’.

We’ve seen the rise of former academy stars like Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Robbie Fowler, Michael Owen and Steve McManaman over the years.

This has led to some of these stars being labelled as legends of the club.

Liverpool hasn’t been slowing down as they continue the tradition of grooming the future in recent years also.

We see that in the likes of Conor Bradley, Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott make their mark on the first team.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jarell Quansah are now certified first team regulars for the club.

But not every player makes.

One of those has just completed a move as he builds his career away from the English Premier League,

Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty seals move

CF Montreal have officially announced that Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty, the young Canadian whizkid once identified as a potential star by Liverpool, has completed a high-profile move from Toronto FC to the club.

The 20-year-old, who caught the eye of the Reds during a trial spell in 2021, has opted for a fresh start in Canada.

Liverpool saw potential in Marshall-Rutty and invited him to test his mettle at the club’s training ground.

Playing as a right-back, the youngster impressed with his raw talent and attacking flair.

However, a permanent deal never materialized, leaving many to wonder what might have been for Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty.

Marshall-Rutty was Toronto’s youngest-ever signing at age 15 and at just 16-years-old, was the youngest-ever call-up in Canada history in 2021. It’s easy to see why Liverpool were keen to take a closer look at the defender.

CF Montreal will be hoping that the next phase of his career will be fruitful for both the club and player.
