Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool will face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium for a place in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

While Liverpool have bigger trophies to try and win this season, the FA Cup will still be a goal for the Reds.

The squad has plenty of experience getting over the line in this competition after triumphing in this competition back in 2022.

Mikel Arteta has also won this competition on one occasion, also beating Chelsea in the final back in 2020.

The Gunners will hungry for a positive result after two consecutive losses in the Premier League.

The Spanish manager will likely opt for his best eleven on Sunday.

Arsenal will only play Crystal Palace on January 20 after the Liverpool clash this weekend, leaving plenty of time to recover.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp will have many unavailable players to contend with heading into this weekend.

Mohamed Salah

The Egyptian has jetted off to link-up with his compatriots for the upcoming AFCON tournament in the Ivory Coast.

The Pharaohs will kick off their quest for continental glory on the Sunday 14 January against Mozambique.

Salah came agonizingly close to bringing the trophy back to his nation but fell at the final hurdle to Sadio Mane’s Senegal.

The 31-year-old could miss all of Liverpool’s game up until the 10th of February if he and Egypt make it to the final.

On Sunday we will see the solutions that Jurgen Klopp said Liverpool have for Salah’s absence.

Wataru Endo

The Japan skipper has grown in confidence over the past month and has grown to become a key player for Jurgen Klopp this term.

He too joins up his nation as he attempts to lead The Samurais to glory in the Asia Cup.

The 30-year-old could be gone for until past 11 February – when the final is set to take place in Qatar.

Alexis Mac Allister’s return will go a long away in easing the worry of Wataru Endo leaving.

Dominik Szoboszlai

The Hungarian was withdrawn against Newcastle United on New Years Day.

It later emerged that he had suffered a hamstring injury.

Jurgen Klopp confirmed in his press conference this morning that Szoboszlai will not be available against Arsenal:

“Dom is very positive and he does not have a lot of pain, but we have to wait a little bit.

“No chance for Sunday [against Arsenal].”

He will likely return after the mid-week tie against Fulham on Wednesday.

Kostas Tsimikas

The Greek international was at the receiving end of a strong Bukayo Saka challenge.

As, a result, he broke his collarbone and will thus be out for the foreseeable future.

However, Athletic journalist James Pearce recently hinted at a possible return date for the left-back.

Thiago Alcantara

The 32-year-old has not played for Liverpool since April last year.

However, he is reportedly close to a return to help the Reds push on in the second half of the season.

We exclusively confirmed that he had trained alone on Christmas Day as he prepares to make his comeback.

However, Barcelona continue to be linked with a move for the Spaniard – despite Klopp’s desire to keep hold of him.

Other long-term concerns

Joel Matip has been ruled out for the rest of the season after his unfortunate ACL rupture.

With his contract expiring at the end of the season, it remains to be seen how the club handle the situation.

Andy Robertson is nearing a return after his shoulder injury sustained on international duty.

However, he is still not available just yet.

Stefan Bajcetic is believed to be on his own special program to help prepare his body for the rigors of men’s football at the highest level.

There is no timescale for his return.

Ben Doak is also recuperating from lateral meniscus surgery and will be out for the foreseeable future.
