Kylian Mbappe sets his sights on Premier League move

Kylian Mbappe could prefer a move to the Premier League this summer.

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe is exploring the option of moving to the Premier League after being unimpressed by Real Madrid’s attempt to push him into signing a pre-contract agreement this month, according to The Times.

The online news portal claims that “Mbappé has told friends that Real will not decide his future for him.

“Before Wednesday’s Trophée des Champions victory over Toulouse he discussed the matter with Nasser al-Khelaifi, assuring PSG’s president that he had neither signed for another club nor come to a conclusion on where he will continue his career.”

Los Blancos is believed to have made the Frenchman an offer to become their best-paid player when his two-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires this summer.

The 25-year-old is now said to be attracted by the move to England as a free agent.

Mbappe is out of contract at PSG in June and was reported earlier this week that he has already agreed to waive a £69million loyalty bonus if he leaves the club this summer.

The World Cup winner was offered a €130million signing bonus and a salary of €26m per year in 2022.

Speaking about his future amid the latest transfer links to Liverpool and Real Madrid, Mbappe said: “No. I’m very, very motivated for this year. It is very important.

“As I said, we have got titles to go after and we have already taken one. After that, I haven’t made up my mind yet. I have not made a choice.”

Liverpool and Mbappe held talks previously but a move for the prolific forward this summer could see the Reds break their transfer record.

He told the Telegraph in 2022: “I talked to Liverpool because it’s the favourite club of my mum.

“I don’t know why, you will have to ask her! It’s a good club and we met them five years ago.

“When I was in Monaco I met them. It’s a big club.”
