Liverpool officially break global Premier League record

In all measurable metrics, Liverpool Football Club are leading the way amongst its competition.

Nielsen is an information outlet in the United States that collects data that measures what consumers watch.

They have just released statistics that showed Liverpool FC have broken a global English Premier League record.

Nielsen, a global leader in audience insights, have provided stats that show that the overall English Premier League season-on-season audience has grown by 7%.

They tabled reports that showed that the biggest growth in international markets, as per viewing the Premier League, was recorded in China with a huge 373% increase and second in the USA with about 42% increase.

Their records also featured, at the time, a record live audience in America of 2.28 million for Liverpool’s game against Arsenal. This was in December 2023.

Liverpool break record

As posted on Liverpool’s official website, Nielsen data has revealed that the Reds drew a staggering global audience of 471 million across all 38 league games in the just concluded 2023/2024 season.

That makes them officially the most-watched English Premier League club in the world.

This news wouldn’t be rather strange or unexpected to ardent followers of the Merseyside club.

It follows the achievement of Liverpool’s distinction as the most-engaged English Premier League club, with over 1.5 billion fan engagements and 11.9 billion social media views.

Additionally, the Reds became the first English Premier League club to reach 10 million YouTube subscribers, earning them the prestigious Diamond Play Button.

America also got a feel of Liverpool’s influence during pre-season where the team played before record-breaking crowds.

Their match against Arsenal at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia drew 69,879 fans, setting a new record for football attendance at the stadium.

The game against Manchester United in South Carolina attracted 77,559 spectators, the largest football crowd ever in North or South Carolina.

Liverpool are also on the way get the Custom Creator award or custom play button, which is majorly awarded to channels that gain a following of 50 million subscribers.

In all measurable metrics, Liverpool Football Club are leading the way amongst its competition.

Liverpool begin their 2024/2025 campaign against Ipswich Town and will be hoping to pull the crowds too.
