The Liverpool badge is one of the most iconic in world football.

With the Liver Bird emblem inside of a badge that has the famous ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ above it and ‘Est. 1892’ below it, it’s as much as part of Liverpool’s identity as anything else.

Players of the past have missed this exact badge when they’ve scored for the club.

But a new change has occurred.

Liverpool Football Club have officially rebranded the club badge as part of preparations for the new season.

But don’t worry – it won’t be changing on iconic artefacts for the club.

So your football shirts will still have the traditional badge on it. As will Anfield, the AXA Training Centre, AXA Melwood Training Centre and club offices.

Basically all non-digital assets.

Instead, the club have updated the badge across all club digital media platforms.

With the advent of social media and more minimalistic branding in general across the world of marketing, the club have decided to adopt a slimmed down version of the badge for their official social media channels.

LFC quietly made the change on social media earlier today.

The Liver Bird only logo will also be used in a digital and TV context next season by national and international media, including the Premier League’s host broadcasters.

Liverpool had made this announcement earlier this season, but the change has now been actualised ahead of the start of the new English Premier League season.

You can see the new branding below.
