A Manchester United striker has become the latest rival to pay homage to Liverpool’s famous ground, Anfield.
Anfield is one of the most iconic stadiums in the world.
The ground has played host to some of the biggest games in history, from European ties to domestic cup and league games.
Famed for it loud atmosphere and passionate fans, Anfield has helped push Liverpool over the line on many occasions, lending its power to help the players see off better teams.
The Liverpool stadium was also the ground where Manchester United suffered their biggest league loss in history-a 7-0 loss in 2023.
The Red Devils are Liverpool’s biggest rivals and both sides have met over 170 times, with United have the overall head-to-head advantage.
However, the Old Trafford club have suffered many heavy losses away at Anfield.
They have not won any of their last nine visits to the Liverpool ground and have failed to score in any of their last five games in the stadium.
So it’s a little surprising that the stadium has been named the best atmosphere by United player Marcus Rashford.
Speaking to Manchester United’s official TikTok channel, Rashford was asked to name the best atmosphere in an away teams stadium.
The United striker proceeded to namedrop Liverpool’s home ground Anfield.
“Best away as a fan atmosphere-wise” Rashford said.
Rashford also revealed that he once visited Anfield disguised in a hoodie, apparently to enjoy the atmosphere.
The England international did that when he was already a Manchester United first team player, showing how much he rates the stadium’s atmosphere.
Rashford is not the first Manchester United star to complement Anfield’s famous atmosphere.
Former Manchester United defender Raphael Varane acknowledged Anfield as one of the most intense atmospheres he has experienced during his playing career.
Elsewhere, Arsenal defender Gabriel also named Liverpool’s famous ground as the stadium with the best atmosphere in the Premier League.
