Missy Bo Kearns has left Liverpool after 15 years at the club. In a shock move announced today the 23-year-old posted an emotional farewell message to Liverpool fans.

The 23-year-old is a life-long Liverpool fan which makes her exit even more emotional and confusing.

The high profile England international announced her departure on her social channels.

“It’s been so hard to say goodbye. Liverpool football club is a part of me”, she said.

Kearns joined Liverpool’s youth academy at a young age, quickly establishing herself as one of the most talented prospects in the club’s ranks

. Her journey through the youth system culminated in her senior debut during the 2018-2019 season, when she was just 17 years old.

Over the following years, she made over 80 appearances for the senior team, becoming a mainstay in the midfield and earning the captain’s armband on several occasions.

It is believed that she joined the Villains for more opportunities to be a starter with a spot in the England squad in the cross hairs.

The midfielder received her first call-up to the Lionesses squad in May, and as a result wants to keep her place for upcoming European Championships next summer.

Matt Beard, Liverpool’s women’s manager, said:

“We respect Missy Bo’s decision and she departs with our very best wishes and I’m sure those of our fans.”

“She has worn the shirt with the pride of a local girl and I have enjoyed my time working with her over so many years.

“I will follow her future development with great interest and pride.”

It is a bit of a sad day for Liverpool FC as she was supposed to be the ‘Steven Gerrard regen’ for the women’s team.

Kearns even has her own artwork in the city, but it seems that the story has now ended between her and the club for now.

We wish her the best of luck and she will surely continue to be fan of Liverpool even if she is no longer a representative.
