Mo Salah has say on his upcoming absence from Liverpool games

Mo Salah spoke after the game about what will happen when he is at AFCON.

Liverpool beat Newcastle 4-2 to extend their lead at the top of the table by three points.

It was a chaotic game in which Mo Salah was involved in throughout to make sure Liverpool got the three points.

However, Salah did miss a penalty in the first half as Anfield worried it was going to be one of those days.

The Egyptian made sure it wasn’t going to be though as he opened the deadlock in the second half after a nice move involving Liverpool’s front three.

He then started the attack for the second goal and then got the assist for Cody Gakpo’s strike.

Salah rounded off his performance by scoring a penalty, making up for his missed on in the early stages of the game.

After the game, he spoke with Sky Sports about how that game would be his last for possibly over a month in England due to AFCON.

Salah predicts how Liverpool will get on without him

Speaking in an interview directly after the game Salah was asked about AFCON and his performance.

He said: “The players spoke in the dressing room at half time, we have to stay calm.

“At half time I was like “are you gonna leave to the national team with that performance, no. Not really.”

The 31-year-old again spoke about AFCON and he mentioned how Liverpool will get on without him.

I want to win this competition. I would love to win it. Without me they will be fine.

“We have fantastic players. Anyone can play in my position. Anyone can do what I am doing,” said the Egyptian captain.

The goals for Liverpool were his 17th and 18th in all competitions so far this campaign and the assist was his ninth.

So Jurgen Klopp will definitely miss his key attacker but it will be time for someone to step forward.
