The Opta supercomputer has crunched the numbers to forecast the final 2024/25 Premier League standings.

The new Premier League season is just around the corner with many opinions as to who will claim England’s biggest honour.

Liverpool kick-off their campaign with a visit to Portman Road Stadium to face Ipswich Town this Saturday.

It will be an introduction to the early kick-off time for Arne Slot, with the match scheduled to get underway at 12:30 BST.

Liverpool will kick off their Premier League campaign against a promoted team for the fifth time in the last six seasons (three victories, one tie).

Since suffering a 3-0 loss to West Bromwich Albion in the 2012–13 season, the Reds have gone 11 seasons without a loss on the opening matchday (winning eight, drawing three).

Meanwhile, Ipswich Town will be reinforced with the loan signing of Kalvin Phillips, although it remains to be seen if he is fit/ready to play against the Reds.

Arne Slot inherits a capable squad, but one that ultimately showed that there is work to be done if they hope to catch both Manchester City and Arsenal.

It’s imperative that the Dutchman gets new signings through the door – but with less than three weeks to go until the window slams shut – any signings have now been cast into doubt.

What did the Opta supercomputer predict for the 2024/25 Premier League season?

The Opta supercomputer employed by the Opta analysts used advanced data to simulate the 2024-25 Premier League season 10,000 times to predict possible outcomes.

The simulations provided insights into how likely each team is to win the league, get relegated, or achieve specific goals.

These projections are based on current team data and don’t account for unpredictable events like injuries, managerial changes, or potential points deductions.

This makes the predictions more of a snapshot of where things stand before the season kicks off, with changes expected as real-life data comes in.

Manchester City is overwhelmingly predicted to win the Premier League again, with an 82.2% chance of being champions.

This is slightly lower than last season’s projection (90.2%), but they remain heavy favorites, especially after winning the title four consecutive times.

Arsenal has made significant improvements in their title chances. They now have a 12.2% chance of winning, a big jump from their 4.1% chance last season and just 0.13% in 2022-23.

The team is expected to finish in the top two 61% of the time and has a 95.7% chance of finishing in the top four.

Liverpool, now under new manager Arne Slot, is third in the running to win the title with a 5.1% chance.

Despite a managerial change, the team has a solid chance to compete and has an 88.8% probability of finishing in the top four.
