The future of Kylian Mbappe is up in the air with his PSG contract expiring at the end of the season.
Reports emanating from France have declared Liverpool a credible and dangerous threat for PSG’s hopes of keeping the coveted forward.
Since extending his stay in the French capital last season, the striker has been consistently linked with a move away from PSG.
With Real Madrid often being touted as the most likely destination for him if he were to move.
However, Jurgen Klopp’s side have also always been in and around the conversation.
Now Luis Enrique has commented on the speculation around his superstar.
What did Luis Enrique say about Mbappe?
When asked how he would manage Mbappe during the transfer window, coach Luis Enrique responded (via GFFN):
“How will I manage [the uncertainty over Mbappé’s future]? As I always have done up to this point.”
He added: “It isn’t an issue that depends on me. I am not the one to respond to this question.”
It was understandably a very curt response from the Spanish manager, who must already be sick of all the speculation.
Furthermore, in recent weeks, reports emerged claiming that Kylian Mbappe and Luis Enrique’s relationship had ‘deteriorated’.
Now the former Barcelona manager has now done little to dispel those reports with his response to the questions.
Is Kylian Mbappe feasible for Liverpool?
The player himself has admired Jurgen Klopp and his style of football for many years.
Kylian Mbappe earns a reported £2m per week from the French champions.
The salary he would likely demand would shatter Liverpool’s current wage structure and set a dangerous precedent to follow.
Nonetheless, Kylian Mbappe would no doubt be an amazing signing for Liverpool, a historic one even.
However, the finances that would be involved in bringing the 24-year-old to Anfield would simply be mind-boggling – and an obstacle too big to simply look over.
