Liverpool have had a fairly busy start to the January transfer window as the club has had a few players return to the club early.
They loaned out several players in the summer and only one of them was meant to come back in January.
Nat Phillips had agreed on a short-term loan with the Scottish Champions Celtic and after struggling for game time the deal wasn’t extended.
As well as him though The Reds have cut short a host of other loan deals in January hence why they have been rather busy.
Fabio Carvalho returned after his RB Leipzig spell and Rhys Williams had been recalled from Aberdeen after they didn’t get enough minutes.
Owen Beck came back to Liverpool from Dundee to give Jurgen Klopp cover at left-back after an injury to Kostas Tsimikas.
The most recent player to return has been James Balagizi as he only made seven appearances for Wigan Athletic in the first half of the campaign.
Calvin Ramsay could be on his way back to Liverpool
Another player who went out on loan was Calvin Ramsay who joined Preston North End in the summer to aid his development.
However, according to a report, he could be the latest player to come back to Anfield after he has also had some struggles.
The Scotland international has suffered some injury issues but now he is fully fit he is still not getting into the match day squad.
Overall he has only made two appearances for the club since joining which is exactly the opposite of what Liverpool had hoped for.
Preston manager Ryan Lowe had his say on the situation as he said: “The injury set him back, then he played and then Covid set him back.
“He’s now finding himself out of the squad, but there is a possibility with everything.
“We will do what is best for us and the player as well.”
Ramsay joined Liverpool from Aberdeen in 2022 and has made two appearances for the club.
