Liverpool have had a slightly busy start the January window even though it has not been open for over 24 hours yet.

The Reds have already been linked to a host of players, especially with defensive injuries to Kostas Tsimikas and Andy Robertson.

However, they appeared to have dealt with the left-back cover by recalling Owen Beck from his loan spell at Dundee FC.

As well as calling back Beck Liverpool brought back Fabio Carvalho from RB Leipzig after he didn’t get enough game time.

The hope was that he would progress his development in the Bundesliga and come back to Liverpool with a better chance of playing under Jurgen Klopp.

That hasn’t happened though and now Fabrizio Romano has given everyone an update on his future at the club.

Liverpool see Fabio Carvalho as part of their future plans

In January 2022 Liverpool tried to bring Carvalho to the club in on deadline day but they couldn’t get the deal done in time.

He joined the following summer and things started well for him as he got two goals in his first nine league appearances.

In the second half of the campaign he did not get as much game time as he would have liked.

Hence why the club though it was the correct decision to send him out on loan.

Now he is back at the club he may have to wait and see if he has a chance of getting some minutes.

According to Fabrizio Romano Liverpool see him as part of their future fans potentially from next season.

Premier League clubs have approached Liverpool to sign him but they have confirmed he is not for sale.

He is set to leave on loan again in January with no buy option available as Liverpool just want game time assurances.

So far he has played 15 games this season without any goal contributions.
