Fabio Carvalho has come back to Liverpool after an unsuccessful loan spell in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig.
The attacking midfielder had a lot of promise around him when Liverpool were doing all they could do bring him to the club in the 2022 January transfer window.
However, they were unable to get the deal done so instead they made him a priority in the following summer.
When Carvalho joined he was consistently part of the squad and started well as he scored twice in his first five league games.
In the second half of the season, he fell down the pecking order so Liverpool wanted him to get consistent game time to make sure he continued to progress hence the loan deal.
Things didn’t quite go to plan though as he struggled to nail down a starting spot in the Leipzig side and also didn’t get a lot of opportunities off the bench.
Liverpool have decided what to do with Fabio Carvalho
According to a recent report, Liverpool have already made up their minds on what to do with Carvalho in the January transfer window.
They are not going to be rushing into a decision on where he goes but there is one thing which will be vital in where he goes.
Liverpool do want to send him back out on loan but have made it clear that he is definetly not for sale.
Championship sides Leicester City and Southampton interested as well as Premier League side Wolves.
If these sides are serious about signing him they need to assure Liverpool they will play him so his development will accelerate.
His next deal will be imperative for his future so the club will be very careful about which club gets to get him.
It remains to be seen whether the club will possibly use him in match day squads whilst he is back and waiting for his next move.
