It seems that former Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke will be moving to a new club this summer.
After a stellar season in the English Premier League, it was expected that one of the bigger teams would make a move for the English striker.
Many felt Solanke was unlucky to not make the England squad for UEFA Euro 2024, but his changes of making future squads will likely increase by playing for a higher profile club.
Tottenham Hotspur are a legitimate top-four Premier League side.
And it looks like they’re ready to bring Solanke to their club.
Spurs insider Paul O’Keefe has tweeted that Tottenham have agreed to pay Bournemouth £57m to sign Dominic Solanke.
£30m will be paid upfront and there is potential for an additional £3m in add-ons. That would take the total potential fee up to £60m.
Liverpool fans will know that the club inserted a 20% profit sell-on clause when they sold the player to The Cherries. What this means is that the Reds get 20% of any profit that Bournemouth make on the fee that they paid Liverpool for the player.
Bournemouth paid around £19m to sign the striker in 2019.
That means that Liverpool are set to make around £7.6m on this transaction.
Adding all the fees received, it will mean that the sale of Dominic Solanke will have raked in around £26.6m for Liverpool in total.
Not a bad return for a player who cost the club around £3m when he joined from Chelsea.
Paul O’Keefe shares more details in a subsequent tweet, where he says that Spurs first looked into signing Solanke around 7-8 weeks ago.
Ange Postecoglou believes that the striker has all the attributes to play for his side and talks are set to continue between the two clubs today to finalise the deal.
Tottenham have agreed to pay Bournemouth £57m for Dominic Solanke with £30m up-front. Some minor add-ons on top of that figure of approximately £3m. Working to complete the deal for striker they who desperately wants to come #THFC
