Virgil van Dijk has confirmed that he has yet to have any contact over a proposed new contract.
The Liverpool captain is ending the final 12 months of his contract with the club.
Asked if there was an update on a new contract the Dutch international said:
“There are no changes at the moment”, as reported by Paul Joyce in The Times.

Speaking on proposed incomings to Liverpool Van Dijk admitted he hopes the club makes some signings.
The 33-year-old reaffirmed his confidence in Liverpool making the correct decisions.
“I am positive. I am confident. Obviously, I think we should make some signings based on how long the season will go but I think we are working behind the scenes and I am fully convinced, and trust the club, that they will do the right thing for us and get the best possible squad in order to compete in every competition we are in.”

Paul Joyce also reported that Liverpool still await Martin Zubimendi’s decision on his contract offer.
“Liverpool are hoping that Martin Zubimendi will confirm he is willing to move to Merseyside. Liverpool were led to believe the Spain player was prepared to make a switch to Anfield, although the 25-year-old is mulling over whether to actually break ties with his boyhood club”, Joyce said.
