German outlet BILD have reported that both Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool are sniffing around Hoffenheim forward Maximilan Beier.

It is not the first time the Reds have been linked to the 21-year-old, suggesting that the club indeed hold some form of interest.

Maximilian Beier had an outstanding 2023/24 season with Hoffenheim, where he emerged as a prolific forward. The 21-year-old scored 16 goals and provided three assists in the Bundesliga during 2023/24.

Beier’s playstyle is characterized by his versatility and physicality.

Standing at 1.85 meters, he can play both as a center-forward and a winger, providing flexibility in attack.

His ability to find space and score under pressure has drawn comparisons to Thomas Müller. Beier’s dynamism and tactical intelligence make him an appealing prospect for top clubs.

At Liverpool, Beier could fit in well, providing depth and competition for places in the forward line.

His adaptability means he could slot into various attacking roles, allowing Slot to rotate his squad more effectively across different competitions.

Given Liverpool’s busy schedule and need for a versatile forward, Beier would be an ideal signing.

His performances earned him a call-up to the German national team for Euro 2024, where he made his debut in a friendly against Ukraine and was included in the squad by Julian Nagelsmann.

What did BILD report on Liverpool and Maximilan Beier?

Both Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund have shown concrete interest in Beier according to BILD.

A plethora of Premier League sides are likewise believed to hold an interest in the young forward, including Chelsea, Aston Villa, Brighton, and Brentford.

However, it is Borussia Dortmund who have pulled away in the ‘race’ to sign Beier and have already agreed personal terms with the player – with Liverpool reportedly weighing up if they should intervene in the matter.

It is believed that last year’s Champions League finalists are willing to pay the reported €25 million valuation of Beier.

Borussia Dortmund sees Beier as a potential successor to their departing strikers, with Niclas Fullkrug have completed a transfer to West Ham while Youssoufa Moukoko is destined to leave Dortmund this summer.

Dortmund manager Nuri Sahin is named as a big fan of Beier’s in the report.

BILD assert that Brentford have already sent a €30 million proposal to Hoffenheim over the signing up, but the Bees are expected to lose out amid all the high-profile interest.

With Beier also giving his blessing to join Borussia Dortmund, it would seem Liverpool will need to act quick if they are to hijack any potential transfer
