Fabio Carvalho is a wanted man.
After Southampton had an offer rejected for the attacker, it seems that another newly promoted club are looking to sign him.
The 21-year-old Liverpool midfielder has been one of the standout performers during the club’s pre-season tour in America and is attracting interest from several clubs.
He scored in Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Arsenal as well as in the Reds’ 3-0 win over rivals Manchester United in their last outing.
His form has led to interest from several club, including Leicester City, who are the latest club to join the queue for his services.
According to football journalist, Fabrizio Romano, the Foxes, who are returning to the Premier League after one season in the Championship have made the Portuguese midfielder one of their transfer targets this summer.
However, the Leicester City will have to bid higher than Southampton’s €20m, as Liverpool reportedly value Carvalho for close to €30m.
The Reds and Arne Slot have seen enough of the former Fulham man to want to keep him at Anfield.
Yet, it is thought that they will be willing to do business if Leicester, or Southampton can match their asking price for the 20-year-old, who has played just 13 league games for Liverpool since joining the club two years ago.
Meanwhile, Liverpool will not entertain a loan offer from Leicester or Southampton for Carvalho. The Fulham youth graduate spent last season on loan to RB Leipzig and Hull City, enjoying much success with the latter.
But, if he is to leave Anfield this summer, it will be on a permanent basis.
