Everton could be in for one of Liverpool’s players this winter.

The January transfer window is only starting to just unfold, but we have had many names linked to Liverpool already – some of which are very surprising to say the least.

Wolves’ Hwang Hee-Chan, Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich, and of course Kylian Mbappe have already been mentioned early on in this window.

But perhaps the biggest curveball of the transfer window so far comes from journalist Rudy Galetti (via SportWitness)

He claims that Everton are one of three clubs to have enquired about Fabio Carvalho after being recalled from his loan spell at RB Leipzig.

There was hope that a loan to the Bundesliga for Fabio Carvalho would revive his Liverpool career after a season’s experience in Germany.

However, it did not pan out that way for the 21-year-old and the Anfield club are ready to find another loan for Carvalho this winter.

Galetti has claimed that the Toffees are one of the of the sides to have ‘asked for info about him.’

It is believed that the Reds will make a decision on Carvalho quickly as they want him to be playing regular minutes.

Does Everton make sense for Fabio Carvalho?

Everton have done well to climb above the relegation zone after their 10-point deduction received earlier this season.

However, Carvalho is hardly a Sean Dyche player, with the former Burnley manager preferring midfielders with more of a physical presence.

Furthermore, it would represent a transfer deal between two historical and fierce rivals.

The last player to cross the Merseyside divide was Mozambique-born Portugal international Abel Xavier all the way back in 2002.

Therefore, it is unlikely that Fabio Carvalho ends up at Goodison Park, but stranger things have happened in the transfer market.

In other news, Jamie Carragher highlights one area he believes Liverpool need to recruit in.
