With their 32nd season in the top flight of English football producing no silverware, Tottenham Hotspur will look to do better in the upcoming 2024/2025 season.
The beginning of the 2023/2024 season saw the arrival of Australian coach, Ange Postecoglou.
It proved to be a good start as the team won 8 of their first 10 games of the season, only dropping points on the road to Bournemouth and Arsenal with two draws.
But it didn’t last long.
Spurs lost four times in the five fixtures that followed, with two of those losses coming at home.
It’s not news that the departure of long-time striker, Harry Kane, took its toll on the team.
This was even more evident as the club didn’t particularly sign a replacement.
Many Spurs fan believe that former Liverpool striker, Dominic Solanke, could be the solution.
Although his time at Anfield wasn’t particularly spectacular, with just a goal and an assist in 27 appearances for the Reds, there was no denying his talent up front.
Solanke was later sold to Bournemouth in January 2019 for £19 million plus add-ons, which took the price to around £24 million.
The 2023/2024 season, however, saw a turnaround in form for the 26-year-old.
He made an impressive 22 goal contribution in 37 appearances.
This saw links to West Ham United emerge, however it seems that another London club may be set to move for the player.
Spurs could move for Dominic Solanke
Fabrizio Romano has tweeted that Tottenham Hotspur are looking to explore a move for Dominic Solanke.
Although no official bids have been made, Spurs are keen to make him a part of their project.
But this could prove difficult as he’s a key player for AFC Bournemouth and has cemented himself up front for the Cherries.
Liverpool have a sell-on clause for Solanke, so will be following this to see if they how much money they could potentially make on the deal.
With the transfer window still open for some time yet, we look to see how it all unfolds.
